The shelf rim is decorated with a band of blue, cloud and thunder meanders, bracketed by thin, blue ringlets. A band of blue, undulating, curly vines, bracketed by thin, blue ringlets, surrounds the side of the lip, and frames a blue, six character, Wanli, reign mark. The body of the urn is decorated with finely drawn, five-color depictions of a Chinese interior with six figures in front of a window looking out on a distant mountain, and both to the left and to the right, two figures in a rock garden amid trees, shrubs, grasses and clouds. The lower rim is banded with two ringlets. A blue, horizontal Wanli reign mark is glazed just below the lip. The finely carved, traditional, Chinese, hongmu stand is included. Circa Republic of China era.
