Once a discreet fixture of the Victorian boudoir, this elegant porcelain vessel reveals the graceful side of everyday life around 1900. Often called a “ladies’ cuspidor,” it served as a practical accessory in dressing rooms and vanity sets — proof that the Victorians could make even the most functional items beautiful.
Crafted in England’s Staffordshire region during the late 19th to early 20th century (c.1880–1910), it features a rich rose-pink enamel band with gilt trim over a creamy white semi-porcelain body. Today it makes a charming catch-all or decorative bowl, blending humor, history, and high style.
