These pieces are marked with the initials "EDT" inside a lozenge, the hallmark of the renowned Parisian silversmith Edmond Tétard (1860–1901). Tétard was one of the last French orfèvres exclusively dedicated to the production of solid silver and vermeil, without producing any silver-plated products. His mark was cancelled in 1903 and his workshop taken over by his descendants under the name TETARD Frères.

They bear the French silver hallmark "Minerve casqué" in an octagon, a mark used after 1838 to denote silver of the highest standard, with a fineness of 950/1000, a higher silver content than Sterling. Additionally, they feature insect bigorne countermarks, used to further authenticate the silver guarantee mark as part of France’s official silver hallmarking system.

These claret jugs, known as Aiguières in France, are a rare and beautiful set, perfect for display or as functional serving pieces.
