An elegant French Art Deco oak extendable dining table, circa 1930s, sourced in Paris. The rectangular top with softly rounded corners is raised on four tapered legs, each joined by shaped stretchers and adorned with gilt-bronze rosettes at the base. The design is architectural and restrained, combining geometric balance with subtle neoclassical accents typical of the Art Deco period. The table extends by way of a smooth pull-out mechanism to accommodate three additional leaves, transforming it from a compact off-square into a long dining surface. The top displays a rich oak grain with warm brown tones, wax-polished to enhance its natural depth and patina. Provenance and workshop attribution are preserved through original labels and stamps: the underside retains its paper label from Adolphe Lévitan, Grand Garde-Meubles Barbès, Paris — a noted Parisian furniture house of the early 20th century — and the extension frame is stamped J. Vassaux Bté S.G.D.G., a patented French furniture mechanism. Together, these confirm the table’s Parisian origin and period authenticity. Our workshop has structurally revised the frame and extension mechanism, ensuring stability and smooth functionality for daily use. The oak surfaces were lightly revived while preserving the natural patina of age. The extension leaves show tonal variation from storage and use, consistent with their history. A versatile and well-proportioned Art Deco table that transitions seamlessly between intimate and large dining settings, offering both decorative presence and practical function.
