Suspended gold and silver flecks catch the light in this tall 1970s Italian Murano-style handblown blue teardrop art glass vase. At 21.25 inches high, the body swells to a 9-inch belly, tapers to a smaller foot, and flares to a 4.5-inch mouth, a scale that suits a console, entry table, or mantel.
In stronger light the glass turns paler and more translucent, and the flecks read cooler and more silver. In softer or angled light the blue deepens and looks more saturated, and the same flecks warm toward gold.
It retains the original “Vetro Eseguito Secondo La Tecnica Dei Maestri Di Murano - Made in Italy” sticker on the base (translated: “Glass executed according to the technique of the masters of Murano - Made in Italy”). The label marks Murano technique from the 1970s to 1980s. It is not signed by a named Murano studio and does not carry the official Vetro Artistico Murano trademark.
