Talk about wearable art! This is an authentic Campbell’s “Souper Dress” from the late 1960s, one of the most iconic fashion-meets-advertising pieces of the 20th century.
Inspired by Andy Warhol’s 1962 Campbell’s Soup Can paintings, this disposable paper dress was produced by the Campbell Soup Company in 1966–1968 as a promotional giveaway. For just $1 and two Campbell’s Soup can labels, consumers could mail in and receive one of these dresses — making it an instant Pop Art collectible and a symbol of 1960s consumer culture.
Constructed of “paper-like” cellulose with cotton fibers (meant to be disposable, though many were preserved as art).
Features the iconic Campbell’s Soup red, white, and gold branding in repeat pattern.
Trimmed in black at the neckline and sleeves.
Bold, graphic, and pure 1960s Pop Art design.
The Souper Dress is more than fashion — it’s a Pop Art artifact. It blurs the line between high art and mass advertising, a theme central to Warhol’s work. While Warhol himself did not design the dress, its creation was directly inspired by his paintings and became a wearable embodiment of his ideas.
Today, original examples are rare and highly collectible, often displayed as art objects rather than garments.
Museum Collections
The Campbell’s Souper Dress is held in several major museum collections, including:
The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met), New York

These institutions recognize the Souper Dress as both a fashion relic and a critical Pop Art object.

Material: Cellulose / cotton blend “paper”

Iconic crossover of advertising, art, and fashion.
Museum-worthy artifact tied to Andy Warhol and Pop Art.
This dress is a time capsule of the 1960s — when consumerism, art, and style collided in a way the world had never seen before. A true Pop Art icon.
