An antique primitive hand made 19th century chair with its original woven splint seat and curved arms.
This chair is one of those pieces that stands alone in a room as a small piece of furniture art.
It has beautiful lines with its bentwood curved arms.

The curved arm design gives the chair a distinct profile., blending the front and the back of the chair in a continuous line. A ladder back. The seat has its original woven splint seat.
Double base stretchers.

The chair is in good condition with minimal loss and cracking on the splint seat (see photo for condition which is based on age)

The frame is somewhat tight with a tiny wobble. The chair is piece of art and a true antique and due to the fragile nature of the original splint seat and the antique frame, this is not a "family" chair to be sat on on a daily basis.

The chair has two antique metal attachments near its upper back which was likely applied there around the date it was made.
Original wood finish with minor surface wear. See less
