The chair in the image is a mahogany Duncan Phyfe-style chair, produced by the Tell City Chair Company. The company, also known as the Tell City Furniture Company, was located in Indiana and was a well-known vintage furniture manufacturer.
Tell City chairs were made in Tell City, Indiana, from 1865 through 2011. Called the Tell City Chair Co., the company is particularly well-known for its mid-century modern dining chairs made of solid hardwoods. The company was founded as the Chair Makers Union in 1865, it became the Tell City Chair Company in 1924 and closed in 2011.

It is of a plastic-like too material, likely manufactured in the 1940’s. I have chosen to leave the chair for sale in its original condition without reupholstering. The condition is good/acceptable. The rose carvings are in excellent shape. Original label is still affixed underneath. less
