The upper case with a flat cornice over … Read more An English George III 18th century mahogany bureau bookcase/ secretary circa 1780. The upper case with a flat cornice over two mirrored doors with parcel gilt carved surrounds. The doors open to an interior with 2 shelves over a course of divided openings above three drawers. The lower case with a fall front lid that opens to a pleasing interior with blind fret on the upper drawers. The architectural prospect door with a mirror is flanked by columned document drawers. The case is fitted with four long drawers over a base with straight bracket feet. Condition is very good with surface wear appropriate with age. The piece has an old finish with rich color and a fine patina.
