A unified set of ten original late-19th-century herbarium botanicals, each specimen meticulously labeled in quill and ink with both common and scientific plant names.
These authentic Victorian-era teaching specimens were originally bound in a folio from the American Normal School—a 19th-century teacher’s college—used for instruction in early botanical sciences.
Each has been archivally mounted and newly framed using solid oak new moulding from Larson-Juhl with a faux-bamboo profile—a design that quietly references early naturalist interiors and pairs easily with both traditional and organic modern decor. All materials are museum-grade: acid-free backings, UV-protective non-glare plexiglass, archival adhesives to preserve their integrity for decades to come.
The set reads as one: consistent paper tone, balanced compositions, and uniform scale. Each folio sheet is approx. 10 ⅞" H × 9" W

Some expected adhesive loss from the original glue & tapes—a hallmark of genuine 19th-century work and, to most eyes, part of their appeal. less
