This antique console table was once an altar piece used in the entryway of a high-ranking official’s home in Gansu province, Northwest China. Estimated to be 150–200 years old, it is crafted from solid walnut wood and features gracefully carved lucky cloud panels—symbols of good fortune and smooth passage in traditional Chinese design.
The wood shows a deep, natural patina developed over generations of use and touch. The cloud-shaped panels along the front and sides bring quiet movement and cultural richness to the piece, while the proportions remain balanced and elegant. A rare example of regional craftsmanship that carries both history and presence.
