A refined Japanese vase by Hannya Kankei, born in 1933 in Takaoka—a city renowned for its centuries-old bronze craft.
The piece is marked “Kankei” (勘渓) on the base and dates to the mid-20th century.
Dimensions: height 22 cm, diameter 25 cm.
Cast in bronze with a natural patina. Around the shoulder runs an Art Deco–style relief band of stylized cranes among flowing lines and concentric circles. In Japan, the crane symbolizes longevity, good fortune, and fidelity.
An elegant form with a rounded body on a narrow foot and a slightly tapered neck.
In excellent condition, with a beautifully developed bronze patina that adds depth and character.
A timeless collectible and a stylish interior accent—especially striking with a single branch or floral arrangement.
