This large ceramic vase was handmade and painted by Domingo Punter in 1947 in Teruel, Spain, a region with a long Mudejar pottery tradition. Punter’s work bridges this heritage with modern Spanish design from the mid-20th century. Made of earthenware, the vase is painted in cobalt blue on a cream glaze and decorated with stylised peacocks and floral motifs, all hand-painted. The three-handled form is both sculptural and functional, showing the artisanal craftsmanship typical of postwar Spanish ceramics.
Craquelure typical of mid-century Spanish pottery, adding texture and depth to the glaze. The base is signed and dated “Punter 47.” Condition is very good, with only minor chips at the base. This piece has an attribution mark,
