Elegant Victorian hand-blown opaline glass bedside water set, composed of a night carafe and matching tumbler that inverts to rest neatly on top as a lid.
Rendered in softly luminous clambroth opaline glass—a warm, translucent beige with a gentle pearlescent glow—the set is hand-enameled with white and gold floral motifs and fine dotted detailing. A charming example of 19th-century craftsmanship—both decorative and functional, perfect for a nightstand, vanity, or display shelf.
Often described as “Bristol glass,” this style refers to the distinctive hand-blown opaline glass produced in and around Bristol, England, as well as in Stourbridge and Bohemian workshops exporting to Britain and America during the late 1800s.
The base shows a ground pontil mark, confirming authentic hand-blown production rather than pressed manufacture.
