In the wind of modernity that animated the 40s and 50s, potters and ceramists were not left behind! They invented and reinvented the shapes of terracotta objects, playing with the composition of glazes to obtain new colors or textures. The Lorraine earthenware factory of Saint Clément is linked to that of Lunéville. In Lunéville, fine earthenware, often common and classic, was produced, along with patterned services and plates. During this time, Saint Clément invented shapes and colors. In the second half of the 20th century, Jacques Roux and Blanche Lettale explored the stylistic possibilities of earthenware. In a stripped-down and innovative style, the latter offered vases with organic shapes, often with monochrome or two-tone glazes. This cup-shaped vase by Blanche Letalle is marked by the Art Deco spirit. with its slender shape, it is adorned with a raised spiral accented with gold on a soft green background.
There are some scuffs on the gilding. The ceramic is stamped Blanche Letalle and Saint Clément in relief under its base.
11.5 cm in diameter, 17 cm in height.
