It it is attributed to … Read more An iconic white Elliptical Table Rod Base (ETR) is commonly called the "Surfboard" coffee table. It it is attributed to Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller. The ETR has a distinctively elongated oval shape that suggests a surfboard. The table's low slung height reflected its use in Mid-Century Modern residences in which sofas and chairs commonly had low seating heights. The table features a plywood construction with a white laminate top, as well as chrome wire bases. The table was purchased from a Palm Beach Florida estate and is likely to have been made in the 1960's in the initial manufacturing run. No maker's mark was found on the bottom of the table. We refurbished the table slightly to repair about three inches of the rim. Dimensions: 10" H X 89" W X 29.25" D. See less
