Here we have a beautiful vintage case on case dry bar or cocktail cabinet from England. This cabinet comes apart into three separate nesting pieces: a highly carved leg base, a lower locking cabinet which houses two solid mahogany dovetailed drawers and finally the arched upper cabinet with more carved details and lined with mirrors and glass shelves.
Gorgeous burl and carved wood exterior. The interior of the top section is lined with mirror (back and bottom) and light blond veneer wood. There are two full-width removable glass shelves and two smaller curved stationary shelves on each door. Also, there is a slide out mirrored mixing/pouring counter with mirrored surface and bakelite knobs. The light works great, it turns on automatically when the right door is opened (see button). It has been rewired to American standards. The original key is present and locks both upper and lower doors properly.
There are two wood screws which affix the top case once it is in place. These screws are taped to the inside of one of the drawers and will need to be screwed in once the cabinet is in final position. To do this the bottom mirror slides out as does the pull out pouring surface and this is where the screws are affixed, joining the top and bottom cases together.
The upper left door has two brass slide latches, one on the top and one on the bottom. PLEASE NOTE: Only the top slide bolt is present, the bottom slide mechanism is missing. However this intact slide latch locks the left door in place just fine. Also there are several small areas of missing burl veneer. These losses are on the bottom edges of the boxes where they meet each other. Please examine the photos and feel free to ask questions. Additionally there is some ghosting and wear to the bottom removable mirror. The bottom cabinet has both slide locks intact.
The measurements given are for the widest points. Overall very very good condition and ready to use. I've enjoyed this cabinet in my own home for many years and used it for storing perfume, so there may be lingering essence of Chanel.
