Details: This coffee table is a classic of Danish design, likely designed by one of the most famous female furniture designers. Grete Jalk (1920-2006) was a lifelong and world-renowned designer, as well as the editor of a furniture magazine and the seminal reference guide to Danish furniture. She opened her own studio in 1953. Some evidence has popped up to indicate it may have been designed by Svend Aage Erikson, the provenance is unclear as the table has typically been credited to Grete Jalk. We have confirmed the table’s provenance with primary source advertisements and catalogs as well as sales receipts; it is unlabeled.
