The Corona Four hit the market in 1924 as Corona's first 4-row keyboard portable that fit into a case without folding the carriage. This model was tremendously popular. Corona claimed that this portable was responsible for a huge breakthrough in typewriter sales. Corona featured the No. 4 in a series of six "Duco" colors, which included lavender, light maroon, channel blue, mountain ash scarlet, cream, bruce green and as seen here, black and gold.
The No.4 has a springy, fast action and will be a pleasure to type on. It has been thoroughly cleaned with a fresh new ribbon installed on the old spools and is great working condition. A copy of the instruction manual and a spare black ribbon will be included free of charge. This is a great typewriter for the occasional typist.
This guy shows some wear to the paint, especially the gold paint on each side. The original ribbon covers are missing and if using a thicker piece of paper you will need to open the paper bail to insert. Also, this typewriter is unusual, as it fits "inside" its case, as opposed to sitting atop of the case like almost every other typewriter. The case is in good vintage condition. Some of the letters under the glass keys are askew. Please check out all the photos and be sure to ask questions if needed.
Serial #J3B02392
According to the serial number, this typewriter was made in 1932.
Typewriter measures: 11" x 12.5" x 4"
