Antique Allover Floral Wool Hand Knotted Pile Blue 1920s Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exquisite example of early 20th-century weaving represents the enduring appeal of antique rugs. Hand-knotted from fine wool, the piece showcases a sophisticated color palette anchored by rich indigo and softened by warm, aged ivory tones.

The design employs a masterful allover rugs pattern, where continuous, flowing vines and palmettes cover the entire field without interruption. This dense composition creates a sense of lush abundance and visual depth, characteristic of the finest Persian-inspired textiles of the period. The repeating floral elements are rendered with a soft, almost painterly quality, enhancing the rug's historic charm.

The core of the rug's aesthetic power lies in its striking use of color. The deep, saturated indigo provides a dramatic backdrop for the lighter floral elements, establishing a timeless elegance. This particular shade of indigo is highly sought after among collectors of blue color rugs, offering a versatile foundation for both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Measuring generously, this piece falls into the category of room size rugs, making it suitable for anchoring a main living space or dining area. Its exceptional condition for a textile of this age, coupled with the resilience of its hand-knotted pile, ensures that this 1920s masterpiece remains a functional work of art ready to define a distinguished home.
