Antique Serab Hallway Runner Wool Ivory Rug, Circa Date: 1880s. This exceptional antique Serab runner exemplifies the robust weaving tradition of Northwest Persia, characterized by its durable wool foundation and refined geometric structure.

Woven specifically for high-traffic transitional spaces, this hallway runner format is highly sought after for its ability to define and elongate a corridor. The central field is dominated by a sophisticated ivory color palette, which is subtly overlaid with a delicate, repeating lattice pattern.

The design features a series of interconnected, stepped medallions that traverse the length of the runner. While these medallions provide distinct focal points, the density of the background motifs ensures a cohesive allover design aesthetic, typical of the best Serab weaving.

The masterful use of natural dyes, evident in the rich, mellowed tones, confirms the rug's provenance as a genuine antique rug from the late Qajar period. This piece represents not only a functional textile but a significant piece of weaving history. See less
