Handsome and rare brass bound mahogany plate bucket ca 1790. This was use in English country homes to warm plates by a fireplace since the kitchens were often far away from the dining rooms. The mahogany is beautifully rich. The brass is warm and buttery.
A fun decorative piece today.
Wouldn't it look great on a buffet to house plates when hosting a large party.
