A fine matching set of three antique Spode ironstone platters, dating to the early 19th century (circa 1815–1820). Each piece is beautifully hand-painted in the “Peacock” or “Double Peacock” pattern — one of Spode’s most celebrated designs inspired by late 18th-century Chinese Export porcelain.
The platters feature a richly detailed scene of peacocks, peonies, and blossoming trees, rendered in vivid Imari-style colors of cobalt blue, iron red, and gilt. This pattern, also known as “Stone China” or “New Stone,” represents Spode’s early innovations in durable ironstone pottery, combining aesthetic refinement with practical strength.
Made in Stoke-on-Trent, England, these platters exemplify Spode’s mastery of decorative design and craftsmanship. Each is marked on the underside with the Spode stamp, confirming its authenticity. Perfect for display or special service, this rare set captures the elegance of Regency-era English ceramics.
