Enjoy a marvelous interplay of shape, color and texture in this fine abstract painting by artist M. Grafton.
The picture is reminiscent of the works of Kasimir Malevich and the Suprematists. Suprematism was an early 20th-century Russian art movement founded by Malevich that believed in "the supremacy of pure artistic feeling" rather than on the figurative depiction of real-life subjects. As such they focused on fundamentals geometry--circles, lines, squares--to create purely abstract compositions.
We know nothing about the artist.
Painted on board. Framed in blond wood with off white fillet. The painting was meant to hand horizontally although we prefer it hung vertically.
MARKINGS: Signed M Grafton '96 bottom right. Framer's label on back.

Very good pre-owned condition. No damage to artwork or to frame.
