The rug is hand-knotted tribal style rug featuring a distinctive three medallion layout characteristic of classic Caucasian super Kazak rugs.
The vertical row of three large geometric medallions anchors the field. Upper and lower medallions feature an ivory/ cream ground decorated with internal geometric rosettes.
The central diamond shaped medallion contrasts sharply with a dark blue ground and layered stepped borders.
The rug has a rich, saturated ground (often obtained naturally from madder root) balanced by deep indigo blue, cream, forest green, and soft saffron gold accents.
The field is decorated with smaller geometric motifs, including miniature stylized rosettes, eight-pointed stars, and tribal motifs.
The rug is framed by a complex border system, including a primary ivory-ground geometric border contained within multiple stylized guard borders displaying reciprocal triangle waves. See less
