Born in Dayton, Ohio, Robert Whitmore studied at the Art Institute of Chicago from 1913 to 1917. Subsequently, he served in World War I for a year, then continued his studies at the Cincinnati Art Academy. He is particularly known for his Ohioan landscapes painted en plein air, exhibiting loose impressionistic brushstrokes and brilliant vibrant colors. To accommodate working outdoors, he turned a Model T truck into his personal mobile studio. Whitmore was an art professor at Antioch College until his retirement in 1955, and his work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Dayton Art Institute, the National Academy of Design, and various galleries in Ohio. less

- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
- Please notify us within 24 hours of purchase if you would like to cancel an order, as prompt cancellation will reduce the likelihood that you will incur return shipping charges.
- Once shipping or pickup has been initiated, the cancellation will be considered a return and you will be responsible for the cost of shipping.
