Elegant Art Nouveau brass and tin coal scuttle box, circa 1900, featuring a nickel-plated brass lid embossed with flowing floral and scroll motifs. The scuttle rests on ornate brass lion-paw feet and retains its original removable tin liner with folding handles and a matching coal scoop.
The black-painted tin body is detailed with fine gold pin-striping, showing gentle age wear. A turned wooden carrying handle crowns the lid, slightly rough from use. Lid hinges are stamped “515 A”; underside marked “A 426.” The lift knob is a later replacement.
A refined Victorian fireplace accessory blending Art Nouveau grace and English craftsmanship—equally beautiful for display or storage.
