19th century fine Swiss carving of a rooster.
The rooster has been expertly hand carved and polychromed for added color and detail. The rooster's comb and wattles are pronounced, as are all of his feathers for added interest to the carving. The rooster appears to be looking over his shoulder and has intelligent eyes that follow.
The rooster is supported on lifelike legs with spurs. His tail is lovely and falls gracefully down the back of the carving.
This piece is mounted on a plinth of wood with beveled edges. It is absolutely lovely.
