The body is studded with sculpted “warts” and ridges; the eyes are glass-like and bring a lifelike spark to the face.

Dimensions: height 9 cm, width 17 cm, depth 15 cm.

Age has given the wood a rich, uneven patina with small, honest traces of use—one-of-a-kind and full of presence.

In Japan the frog (kaeru) is a good-luck motif linked to safe returns and wealth “coming back,” making it a favored charm for travelers and prosperity. Displayed on a shelf or desk, this okimono adds a quiet, poetic accent to any room.
