A rare set of three characterful sake bottles, each finished with a soft grey-white glaze and adorned with hand-painted Japanese calligraphy around the surface. Two bottles feature bold black brushwork, while the third is decorated in vibrant cobalt blue.
Dimensions (each): height approx. 26 cm, diameter approx. 13 cm
The brushstrokes are expressive and spontaneous — each piece carries its own rhythm and energy, making them not only functional but also sculptural. Originally, these bottles were used for storing and serving sake in breweries or traditional shops.
The natural irregularities, subtle craquelure, and traces of age highlight their wabi-sabi charm — the beauty found in simplicity, time, and craftsmanship.
A particularly decorative trio that adds warmth and character to any interior — beautiful on a shelf, sideboard, or displayed alongside other Japanese ceramics and wooden accents.
