This striking antique bird door knocker from Turkey is crafted in solid brass and features a beautifully detailed, sculptural form. With outstretched wings and textured feather detailing, the design reflects traditional Turkish metalworking, where animal motifs were often used as symbols of protection and welcome at the home’s entrance.
Hand-cast with visible surface texture and a warm aged patina, this knocker has a strong visual presence and substantial feel. It can be mounted directly to a door or paired with a custom backplate if desired, making it a versatile decorative accent for entryways, gates, or interior doors. It mounts via a single screw into the plate that is under the tail, with the bird hanging downward. There is no knocker plate. Mounting screws not included.
