The surface is coated with a brilliant coral-red glaze of smooth, lustrous texture. Finely gilt decoration depicts cranes and pine trees, with the four-character inscription “Song He Yan Nian” (“Longevity as the Pines and Cranes”). The overglaze gilt is exceptionally well preserved, shimmering against the rich red ground to create a striking contrast and a sense of opulence. Combining vivid color, auspicious motifs, and superb gilding craftsmanship, this piece exemplifies the refined ceramic artistry of its time.
