the brass frame of the lamp, with a beautiful design and lovely details, has a hexagon shape just like the lampshade. With its height of 44 cm / 17.32", this lamp base is herda's largest table lamp.
the lampshade is made of fabric in off-white with decorative piping on the edges. Due to the reflection of light on the brass, and the tempered light through the lampshade, the lamp diffuses very atmospheric light.

herda was a lighting factory founded by the daniels brothers in 1946 with headquarters in amsterdam. Herda employed three designers jaap tiepel, dirk heyman, margo van dijk and later collaborated with top designers such as: willem van oyen (also active for the famous dutch brand 'raak'). They started small, but at their heyday they were the largest lamp manufacturer in the netherlands with 95 percent of the total market. Unfortunately, herda was declared bankrupt in 1997, but their iconic lamps are still highly sought after and loved by vintage enthusiasts.

condition: the lamp works properly and is in excellent vintage condition with only minor signs of use (mainly some patina on the brass).
