A spear made of hardwood or palm wood. This spear was used as a weapon of war. The openwork carving of this spear depicts stylized human figures in the crouching position of a praying mantis. Zigzag lines are carved through the center and sides of the blade, representing writhing worms. The incised motifs on the shaft above and below the blade represent leaves. Today, these spears are also used for hunting and carried by men during ceremonies and dances.
