The sovereign appears dressed in an ermine mantle, a jeweled dress, and a pearl necklace, in an attitude of royal dignity. Her high, powdered hairstyle reflects early 18th-century court fashion. A work by the european school of portrait painting (probably italian or spanish), executed around 1715–1730, coinciding with isabella's arrival at the spanish court. Although it was acquired as 17th century, the iconography and the queen's life history confirm its origin in the early decades of the 18th century. The canvas retains a fine color quality and naturalism, highlighting the elegance of her clothing. Framed in a gilt frame with a ribbon and rocaille decoration at the top, added in the 19th century. A historical piece of great interest for its iconographic and collector's value, linked to one of the most influential political figures of the bourbon monarchy in spain. 78cm x 63.5cm with frame: 88cm x 73.5cm this piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
