A refined pair of antique bentwood café chairs by Jacob & Josef Kohn, Vienna, dating to the early 1900s. Crafted from steam bent beechwood, featuring the maker’s original paper label (on one chair) (evidence of it on the other) and a beautifully embossed and pierced seat with intricate scrolling foliate and geometric motifs — a signature of Kohn’s early 20th-century production.
Lightweight yet remarkably sturdy, these classic Viennese café chairs capture the timeless elegance of the Art Nouveau and Secessionist movements. Their graceful ladder back form and warm patina bring character, style and sophistication.
