The drawer front is decorated with vivid red and black graphics, including a circular logo and a metal handle. The top is printed with the inscription 常備薬 (jōbiyaku – “household medicine”), while one side bears the phrase 明るい家庭は先ず健康から (“A happy home begins with health”). Inside, an original handwritten inventory list of medicines is still preserved – a rare detail enhancing its historical character.

Today, this chest is not only a tangible piece of Japanese folk history but also a versatile storage object. Ideal for keys, sewing supplies, stationery, or small collectibles, while serving as a striking graphic accent in any interior.
