An original oil painting on canvas by Eric Lea, British artist active from 1930-1934, "An Art Deco Railway Bridge" painted with pastel colors associated with British Railway advertising of the 1930"s, scene of a grassy slope to the left, a bridge over a body of water and another slope in shadow to the right, buildings to the right and left of the bridge with one long roof top visible to the rear, 16" x 18", signed Eric Lea in the lower right corner front. CA number 3977, CA purchased from a British auction house summer of 2025. This work was probably executed in the 1930's.
The painting has been cleaned and varnished in order to protect the paint film. It has been reframed in 1 1/8" original Abe Munn antiqued gold crowned moulding.
Sadly, very little is known about Eric Lea. He was probably a railway/industrial designer and artist.
This is a lovely example of an Art Deco landscape from the 1930's.
