Each piece in this collection faithfully reproduces 18th-century originals from the museum’s collection using traditional joinery, finishes, and materials.

This example was finished at the Colonial Williamsburg woodworking shop by Baker’s own master craftsmen and retains its original brass plaque, paper label, and maker’s signature. The brass plate is inscribed:
“Williamsburg Reproduction Furniture by Baker — Pattern 8864 — No. 126.”

The interior drawer bears the signature of cabinetmaker Benjamin L. Koteras, a master craftsman known for his long association with the Colonial Williamsburg Furniture Craft Shop, where he specialized in authentic reproductions for museum use and licensed collaborations. Koteras’ work is recognized for its meticulous hand finishing and period-correct detailing, reflecting the same high standards applied to furnishings displayed in the Governor’s Palace and other historic interiors at Williamsburg.

The lowboy features select figured mahogany veneers, a shaped apron with pendant drops, and elegant Queen Anne cabriole legs terminating in pad feet. The drawers are fitted with solid brass Chippendale-style pulls.

A superb and rare example from one of America’s finest furniture makers, combining the artistry of Baker Furniture with the historical authenticity of Colonial Williamsburg craftsmanship. See less
