The two-inch thick reconstituted stone top, which has accents of white, black, light gray, and ochre, is adorned with foliate tips on the quarter-round molding. In stark contrast to the dark top, the two pedestal legs have a cream palette, with some areas that have a greenish-gray hue, thanks to the accumulation of moss and lichen. The cast cement legs depict a pair of winged rams back-to-back, sitting on a thick plinth. A large leafy tuft festoons each of the mythical creatures’ torsos, before forming a sweeping S-curve that terminates in a foliate volute. This table is quite versatile and can be used outdoors or inside, adding a touch of Neoclassicism to whatever area it is placed.

Francesco Antonio Franzoni was a noted Italian sculptor who specialized in restoring antique Roman sculptures. Franzoni also created original items, such as these table supports. The Getty in Los Angeles has similar Franzoni sculptures from the late 1800s that support a marble table top. See less
