A circular … Read more An elegant and flamboyant circular "wheat ear" pendant light, chandelier, or candelabra, art deco, neoclassical, or shabby chic. A circular arrangement of wheat ears and leaves in highly patinated gilt metal forming a large sheaf or bouquet, illuminated by six candle-style bulbs. Delivered in its original condition and full of flaws that add to its charm, attributed to maison bagues, france, 1930-1950.

this beautiful light fixture is a "smaller" pendant version of the famous "wheat ear" model by maison baguès, well known for having featured in its coffee table version in coco chanel's parisian interior in the 1930s.

note: another, larger chandelier, a listed example of this model, will also be up for sale soon in my other auctions!!!

this piece can be fixed to the ceiling directly on its main axis which is equipped with a small bail cover, like a "ceiling chandelier" allowing a smaller footprint (h 57 cm); or in suspension mode, like a chandelier-candlestick, suspended on a golden chain itself decorated with a second bail cover, visible here in the photo (h 87 cm). Obviously, this chain can be replaced by a golden chain of a different length if necessary, which we can do on simple request.
