The name derives from the long finger … Read more The Alter Fruit box is a citron Buddhas Fingers symbolizing Happiness and Longevity. The name derives from the long finger like tendrils resembling the common hand position of the Buddha. Typically these types of Boxes were offered as spiritual blessings or were filled with material blessings such as money or other items of value. The mottled shape is glazed with bright yellow and greens accented by the intricate brown stem, green and white gold leaves and a rose colored flower. Inside the box reveals a bright turquoise glaze. In good condition considering the years, with what looks like part of the bottom stem missing on the back end. Otherwise no significant chips or breaks. See less
