Orvieto, the Italian porcelain Majolica epitome, created these four sherbert, or mousse....or about 2/3 cup of anything that will taste even better from these.
Delicate design overall, with handpainting on the stems and cups; the black lines are perfect with the green floral. Note the four tiny pinches around rims....perfect.
Orvieto is a 3000 year old town in Italy with a history of fine majolica since the mid-13th century. Well guarded recipes for treating the clay, preparing glazes, and calculating
firings contribute to the unusual beauty and durability of it's majolica.
4.5" tall, 3.5 " wide, these would add delight to holiday desserts or any time at all.
Perfect condition.
