Blue and white porcelain originated in China during the Tang Dynasty, but it became more prominent during the Yuan Dynasty. It gained immense popularity during the Ming Dynasty. This beautiful cobalt blue pigment bowl features a lotus flower. Which was a very common motif in Chinese art, symbolizing purity, enlightenment, and rebirth. The intricate floral patterns and scrolling vines are characteristics of Ming Dynasty porcelain.
In excellent condition, no chips, may have normal wear due to age. Absolutely stunning bowl that can be used as a fruit bowl or for decorative purposes.
