Antique Adam & Eve porcelain figurine designed by Hans Henrik Hansen for Royal Copenhagen. Designed by HHH in 1919, model #1997. Depicts Adam and Eve seated in a pile of forbidden fruit, sharing a prickly pear; round base with gilt snake edging. The snake represents life, death and rebirth.
Royal Copenhagen factory, founded by Dowager Queen Juliane Marie in 1775. Her most significant contribution was establishing the factory's signature mark of three blue waves (as seen on the base of this piece), representing Denmark's three major waterways, and a royal crown to signify royal association.
