The thick rim is turned from lightweight yet strong paulownia (kiri) and shows an exceptionally lively grain that flows seamlessly all the way around. Traditionally, a hibachi was filled with ash and charcoal to warm the hands or keep water hot for tea—everyday Japanese life captured in an object.

Dimensions: height 26 cm, diameter 52 cm.

In very good condition with a warm, natural patina to both wood and copper. A unique interior accent that works effortlessly as a sculptural centerpiece, and equally lovely as a low plant stand or floral display. See less
