A superlative replica of THE Charles Dickens desk in solid mahogany. #82 - Dim.54 x 29 x 35.full ht. Writing surface 30'' Oak dovetailed drawers perform smooth. Signed by world class maker Hekman. This commemorative desk is approx. 40 years old. Acquired from a deceased collector. Many of Dickens famous novels were penned on the original desk at his estate in England.
No corners were cut on build or features. Dickens would be honored!
In phenomenal overall condition w/h wonderful matching cain seat smokers chair on good brass castors. WOW! Both desk & chair are as close to new as could be found today. The chair has had a minor repair yet is still sound and in no way hinders it's use! Together they are classic heirlooms, to student, collector, home or office.
Leather and tooled gold are perfect. Clever pen & ink well on top gallery. Finish is superb.
