A beautifully aged French terracotta jar with a rich mustard glaze, made in Vallauris, France.
This traditional confit or olive jar was once used to preserve food in the kitchens of Provence. The deep honeyed tone and subtle craquelure give it an earthy warmth.
Stamped on the front with the Vallauris mark, this piece shows the hand thrown character and subtle glaze variations that define classic French pottery. The interior retains its darker glaze while the exterior glaze reveals fine crackling and areas of gentle wear.
