Works perfectly. Perfect bone handle with dusting brush. Full length wire helix.
genuine Georgian artefact used purely for the enjoyment of wine. Among the most sophisticated and collected corkscrews, the double-action system patented in 1802 by Sir Edward Thomason (1769-1849). The system with double screw allows the cork to be easily extracted, by a simple continuously screwing, always in the same direction.
Intended to reduce the physical effort, it allows the bottle to be opened gently, without disturbing the bottle contents. A screw operated by the bone handle penetrates into the cork, and when it arrives at the stop, the second operates it to raise the cork. The detail incorporated into the design and manufacturing, makes each piece a precision engineered instrument, highly advanced for the time.
