Circa late 1930's signed etching by Irwin D. Hoffman titled Pastoral - Puerto Rico. Depicts a group of four farm laborers working a hillside field. Pencil signed and titled along lower edge. Signed in plate Irwin D. Hoffman 1938, lower left. Hoffman's brothers owned a mining company and prospected in the southwest, Mexico and Puerto Rico. The artist in Hoffman was heavily influenced by the people of the small villages that he visited while with his brothers' mining company. He was a painter, etcher, sculptor and lithographer, b.1901-1989. Published by Associated American Artists. Wood frame with black detail; white mat; original label on back.
